Hello Family,
Michael had a P.E.T. scan on Tuesday last week with the results on Thursday. He is responding to chemotherapy treatment, but will do
another cycle of the chemo and then head down to SLC Huntsman Cancer Institute for a bone marrow transplant. The following describes the kind he is having:
"Autologous stem cell transplants are performed with stem cells that are collected from the patient's own blood stream. These are called "peripheral stem cells" because they do not come directly from the marrow. These cells are collected, stored in a frozen state, and later
thawed and given back to the patient after completion of high dose chemotherapy."
We are hoping that he will be done and healthy enough to travel over to Colorado for the reunion. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts for
his recovery.
Love, Doug & Rochelle
